Gold Key Service (GKS) – matchmaking appointments

The Gold Key Service (GKS) provides U.S. firms traveling to a foreign market with pre-screened appointments to establish relationships with potential overseas agents, distributors, sales representatives, business partners and other local entities in-country. The GKS involves arranging up to 5 in-country matchmaking appointments in an overseas market to develop relationships with potential foreign buyers and distributors.

  • Small Business = $950 (+$350 per day for more than five meetings)
  • Medium Business = $2,300 (+$1,000 per day for more than five meetings)
  • Large Business = $3,400 (+$1,200 per day for more than five meetings)
  • Delivery Time (Date of Payment to Date Service is Completed) = 6 weeks

Initial Market Check (IMC) – market potential assessment

The Initial Market Check (IMC) is an initial assessment of the market potential of a client’s product or service in a targeted market. This service gauges the potential of a specific product or service in a market by gathering feedback from up to five (5) industry participants and provides written recommendations on whether to pursue the target market. The service does not guarantee interest by the contacted industry participants. As the IMC focuses solely on assessing market potential by industry participants, only company/organization names (not contact names) are provided.

International Company Profile (ICP) – full background check / partial background check

The International Company Profile Full (ICP Full) provides U.S. companies with in-depth background check information on a specific foreign company to help determine its suitability as a potential business partner. The service includes a site visit to the target foreign company and interviews with principals/references (any travel beyond 80 kilometers of the overseas CS office will incur additional charges). The ICP Full does not constitute certification or assurance of compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The International Company Profile Partial (ICP Partial) provides U.S. companies with basic background check information on a specific foreign company to help determine its suitability as a potential business partner. The report gathers publicly available information through independent sources to provide a general background on the foreign company. It does not include a site visit to the target company, interviews with references or financial/credit information. The ICP Partial does not constitute certification or assurance of compliance with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

  • Medium Business = $1,200 / $850

International Partner Search (IPS) – pre-screened business contacts

The International Part Search (IPS) provides U.S. companies with a list of up to five (5) potential agents, partners or distributors that have expressed an interest in the client’s product or service. The service includes:

  • and outreach to potential matching firms
  • client’s information to identified matching firms
  • a profile of interested firms, and
  • a report with the profile and contact information
  • Small Business = $750

International Partner Search + Virtual Introductions (IPS Plus)

The International Part Search Plus (IPS Plus) is the same as the IPS, but also includes virtual introductions via teleconference to the identified contacts (within 30 days of final service delivery). Clients having trouble connecting with partners identified by CS should use this service.

Featured U.S. Exporter (FUSE) listing – (Five markets)

Featured U.S. Exporters Listing (FUSE) provides U.S. companies with an opportunity to enhance their international marketing efforts through improved search engine optimization. A listing on the FUSE directory of an overseas CS office’s local website gives U.S. exporters targeted overseas exposure to increase the number of visitors to their website and promote their goods/services to local importers, buyers, agents and distributors.

Small Business = $150

  • + $30 for additional market listing
  • + $50 for translation if needed
  • Annual renewal: $75

Medium Business = $350

  • + $50 for additional market listing
  • + $50 for translation if needed
  • Annual renewal: $175

Large Business = $500

  • + $70 for additional market listing

Business Service Provider (BSP) – web listing of export services for one category

The Business Service Provider (BSP) is an online program to help U.S. exporters identify professional export service providers to support them in the assessment, financing or completion of an export transaction. The BSP can include U.S. and foreign business service providers. Export service providers gain visibility within the exporting community via participation in a BSP Directory.

Small Business = $150

  • + $30 for additional category listing
  • + $50 for translation if needed
  • Annual renewal: $75

Medium Business = $250

  • + $50 for additional category listing
  • + $50 for translation if needed
  • Annual renewal: $125

Large Business = $350

  • + $70 for additional category listing

Single Company Promotion (SCP) – promotional event

The Single Company Promotion (SCP) provides U.S. companies with promotional services to help increase the awareness of their product/service in a specific market. The promotional event may consist of a technical seminar, press conference, luncheon, dinner, or reception, with targeted direct mail or e-mail campaigns.

Small Business

  • 20 to 40 hours of staff time: $800
  • 41 to 80 hours of staff time: $1,500
  • 81 to 110 hours of staff time: $2,000

Medium Business

  • 20 to 40 hours of staff time: $1,800
  • 41 to 80 hours of staff time: $2,000
  • 81 to 110 hours of staff time: $4,800

Trade Show Representation (TSR)

Trade Show Representation (TSR) provides U.S. companies and economic development organizations with the ability to increase their marketing exposure at an overseas trade show when they are unable to attend in-person.

The service entails:

  • pre-trade show promotions via the internet/social media/email campaigns
  • the client’s product or service at the overseas trade show
  • the client’s promotional materials in a booth at the trade show under the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service brand
  • outreach to foreign buyers/distributors in attendance at the trade show
  • an end of show report summarizing activities conducted at the event

The focus of the service is on client trade show positioning, marketing, and promotional needs – NOT on lead generation (although this may be an outcome).

Multiple client products and services (up to 5 U.S. companies for each Commercial Specialist attending the show) may be showcased by CS at the event.

Certified Trade Mission (CTM)

A Certified Trade Mission (CTM) provides an effective way for groups of U.S. companies to explore business opportunities in overseas markets. A CTM may consist of the following activities: Market Briefing, Gold Key Service, and Reception/Site Visit/Technical Seminar, etc. The trade mission organizer and CS will determine how many of these activities will be included in the CTM for all CTM participants. CTM organizers include, but are not limited to: CS staff, industry trade associations, agencies of state and local governments, chambers of commerce, regional groups, and other export-oriented groups.

Types of CTM Activities

The activities performed as part of the CTM will vary based on the selected package on behalf of all participants. CTMs have only one client, the organizer, but multiple participants. The CTM organizer can select (a mix of) the following activities:

  • Key Service (GKS) meetings: One-to-one meetings with foreign industry executives and government officials, pre-screened to match the specific business objectives.
  • Reception: Event with guests from local industry multipliers such as Chambers of Commerce, associations and business councils that are influential in the business community.
  • Briefing: Briefing on local business practices and opportunities.
  • Visit or Technical Seminar: Visit to local facilities where participants’ technologies/services may be applied or industry specific seminar.

INVESTMENT PROMOTION SERVICES

Single Location Promotion (SLP)

The Single Location Promotion (SLP) is offered to a U.S. Economic Development Organization (EDO) representing a state, city, town, or region to promote individual jurisdictions as a destination for foreign direct investment. Tailor-made events are organized by overseas Posts, in conjunction with SelectUSA Washington, D.C., such as: seminars, presentations, government-to-government or government-to-business meetings, receptions, and other events that enable the U.S. location to promote itself to potential foreign investors in a specific market.

The SLP service supports the foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction and marketing initiatives of individual U.S. economic development organizations (EDOs) in specific international markets. Frequently an SLP is used in conjunction with a high-level trade mission abroad, often accompanied by the Governor or other high-ranking official. An EDO can request an activity or event that helps advance its FDI strategy and takes advantage of its officials’ time in market to create opportunities for business development.

  • 20 to 40 hours of staff time: $800
  • 41 to 80 hours of staff time: $1,500
  • 81 to 110 hours of staff time: $2,000

Facilitated Investment Mission (FIM) / Roadshow

The Facilitated Investment Mission/Roadshow (FIM) is offered to groups of U.S. Economic Development Organizations representing a state, city, town, or region to promote their respective jurisdictions as a destination for foreign direct investment. The FIM involves the organization of multiple promotional events that connect EDOs and potential investors in one or more locations in overseas markets. The FIM is organized by overseas Commercial Service posts, in conjunction with SelectUSA Washington, D.C. staff, and includes investment promotion events, matchmaking meetings with pre-screened potential investors, and networking events.

  • Full package: $1,200
