Visa Requirements

A visa is required to enter Tanzania. Please visit the Embassy of Tanzania website to obtain the most current visa information.

Medical Requirements

Please refer to the CDC Traveler’s website: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/tanzania/

A yellow fever vaccination is required if entering from a World Health Organization (WHO) designated yellow fever country which includes Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. Providing proof of Yellow Fever vaccination is needed in order to enter South Africa from Tanzania.

All travelers should be up-to-date on their routine vaccinations. Most travelers obtain Hep A and Typhoid vaccinations. Malaria medication is generally not recommended, unless traveling outside of main city area for a prolonged visit

Airport Transportation

Currency Exchange

Banking hours vary, but are generally from 8am to 4pm. Please note that the exchange rate at the airport and at hotels is slightly less favorable. Travelers who possess ATM cards may wish to obtain most of their cash from ATM machines, which are widely available in Dar es Salaam (the airport) and usually offer the most favorable exchange rate and lower fees than other exchange options. The hotel also has a forex bureau but exchange rate is slightly less favorable.
