Visa Requirements

1. ** Visa Letter:  Please note, as of September 1, 2015, the Government of Kenya changed its visa policy. As of September 1, 2015, visitors will no longer be given visas at the port of entry. My colleagues at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi confirmed this change will affect our travel. All visitors must use the Government of Kenya’s new e-visa website to apply for their visa. Please note, we have been assured there is sufficient time to complete this online application. Please see the instructions below provided by my colleagues overseas:

A. Visit  www.ecitizen.go.ke  OR http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html (please type the address into the browser if the link does not take you to the site).

B. Once the online form has been completed, press submit to pay the visa fee

C. Print out the payment confirmation to bring to Kenya to present to the immigration official in Nairobi who will provide a visa stamp once you disembark.

Please note, you will require a visa application letter from the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi which will you will receive by COB tomorrow.

Please visit the Embassy of Kenya website for the most current visa information.

Medical Requirements

Evidence of yellow fever immunization may be requested, and some travellers have been turned around at immigration for not having sufficient proof of immunization. Yellow fever vaccination is highly recommended.
