Visa Requirements

A visa is required to enter Angola. As of January 2013, applicants for Angolan visas are required to appear in person at the Embassy/Consulate for processing. An invitation letter is required with the visa application. As a client of the Commercial Service Angola, upon request, the U.S. Embassy Angola will issue to you a visa invitation letter in electronic form.

Medical Requirements

A yellow fever vaccination is needed. Please refer to the CDC Traveler’s website: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/angola

  • Yellow Fever Vaccination: The government of Angola requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travelers. Yellow Immunization Record with proof of current yellow fever immunization must be presented to officials upon arrival at airport.
  • Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines: measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot
  • Most travelers obtain Hep A and Typhoid vaccinations. Antimalarial medication is recommended for Angola.

U.S. Embassy Angola is booking hotel rooms for delegation members to ensure U.S. Embassy rate. Each delegation member must present credit card (Visa or Master Card only) upon check in and to pay bill at end of stay. Cash payment is also acceptable.

Airport Transportation

Individual airport transfers to Epic Sana Hotel will be provided based on itineraries submitted to Aisha Jones.

Currency Exchange

Local Currency: The local currency is the Angolan Kwanza. Credit Cards & Debit Cards: The use of credit and debit cards in Luanda is limited generally to hotels. Only Master Card and Visa credit cards are accepted in Angola.
