The U.S. Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) in Nigeria has observed a growing trend of fraud and scam attempts directed U.S. businesses. These schemes typically involve advance fee requests for a contract award or other business services by individuals posing as USFCS personnel.

Email communication from the Commercial Service will come from an @trade.gov addresses, or an @state.gov email address in the case of partnership posts.

If you suspect that you have been fraudulently contacted, please advise our office or your local United States Export Assistance Center: https://2016.export.gov/eac/
