Media & Entertainment

The M&E Team represents the interests of U.S. Media and Entertainment businesses globally, and we’re headquartered in the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, DC.

With over 200 participants, our team comprises industry and trade experts across a vast global network which includes 100 Export Assistance Centers in the U.S. as well as offices located in more than 70 countries. We work with small businesses and major corporations, trade associations, IP and copyright bodies, and other government agencies such as the Copyright Office, the U.S. State Department, the United States Trade Representatives, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Export Import Bank and State as well as local Economic Development Agencies, and foreign governments, industry and trade groups to accomplish this mission.

Our industry and policy experts in DC and beyond work with the team to advance U.S. commercial interests in trade negotiations, and often weigh in on regulatory developments at the invitation of foreign trading partners. The Department also has 11 Intellectual Property Attaché’s stationed in nine countries to protect U.S. IPR rights and educate business and trading partners on U.S. laws.
