Our division of Commerce, the U.S. Commercial Service, has a global network of 100 offices located throughout the U.S. and over 100 offices located in more than 75 countries. Our worldwide team of education specialists is here to assist with your international outreach to students, potential partners, and agents. Our Education Team members can assist you with the following:

  • International Market Research – please refer to the report on the left side of the page entitled “Resource Guide 2018”.
  • Recruitment Fairs – we can help you identify the right international education fairs for your institution.
  • Webinars – learn about the education sector in a market of interest without leaving your desk.
  • Virtual Education Events – showcase your school to a potential partner institution and/or agents using a powerpoint presentation live over the internet.
  • Gold Key Service – we will set up in-country meetings for you with possible partner educational institutions, identify qualified recruiting agents, find companies that require specialized training for their employees and/or connect you with the Ministry of Education.
  • Single School Promotion – we will organize an event featuring your institution/program and invite the country’s key players in the education sector.

Event Highlight: Opportunity to Meet with Commerce’s Overseas Education Specialists at NAFSA 2018

U.S. Educators are invited to meet with U.S. Commercial Service Education Specialists from China, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Ukraine to discuss market potential and issues regarding international student recruitment. This year, we are pleased to offer meetings with an official from Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) to discuss research and deemed exports (more information available here… (https://bis.doc.gov/index.php/policy-guidance/deemed-exports/deemed-exports-faqs).

Event Summary:
Are you interested in an excellent opportunity to recruit international students from Russia and Ukraine? How would you like to recruit without ever setting foot on a plane? Participants will be given a low cost opportunity to introduce their school to education agents in Russia and Ukraine. Join a unique, virtual opportunity to introduce accredited U.S. undergraduate and graduate programs to pre-qualified Russian and Ukrainian international student recruitment agencies. The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce is organizing this event that will be held on March 21, 2018 at 8:00 am EST. Only six (6) participants will be showcased from those educational institutions that express interest. These institutions will present their school to potential Thai student recruitment partners through a live Internet-Conference Call connection from their office or home. The cost to participate is $1,000, which is a fraction of the cost of traveling to Russia and Ukraine to introduce your institution. Registration opens on February 2 at 3:00 pm EST (based on first come, first serve). Upon receipt of institutional information, the U.S. Commercial Service will review your academic program offerings, accreditation, etc. to ensure an appropriate match. If selected to participate we will contact you regarding the required registration and to assist in making payment by credit card. Once payment is fulfilled, we will send you the conference call and webinar participation information, along with dates and times for the web-based training programs. If you are not chosen to participate, you will be notified by with an explanation of why your institution was not chosen to participate in this event.
