The U.S. Commercial Service is the export promotion agency of the U.S. government and operates under the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. We have over 100 offices in the United States and are in over 75 countries, with a presence at the U.S. embassies and consulates throughout the world. Our Trade Specialists work with U.S. companies and industry leaders to provide market information that caters to the unique needs within the education IT sector.

The Global Education Team continuously works with education technology firms and industry associations to understand trends, buying power, decision-making processes, and issues within each country. We counsel U.S. companies on how to promote and sell their goods and services abroad. The below events have been organized with the purpose to facilitate trade and increase sales for U.S. companies.

Success Story

Matific Establishes Sales Channel in Peru

Matific is a globally recognized online teaching and learning resource for elementary school mathematics (Kindergarten to 6th Grade). Matific is currently available in over 25 languages and is aligned to mathematics curricula in over 45 countries.

Matific applied and was accepted to participate in the USCS Global Education Team and Partners of the Americas Education Technology Certified Trade Mission to Bogota, Colombia and Lima, Peru in June 2018. The U.S. companies attended market briefings, industry roundtable discussions, and business-to-business meetings.

As a result of the meetings in Peru, Matific signed an agreement to be represented in the market.

Market Spotlight: Brazil


Brazil is a continental country and education is one of the most important sectors for the government. With more than 50 million students (all levels), approximately 2 million teachers and 200,000 accredited learning institutions, there are many challenges to be faced and where there are challenges there are countless opportunities.

The Brazilian EdTech industry is sprouting in all sectors such as kindergarten, high schools, universities, and corporate education. It is one of the hottest segment of the startups market and it is expected to become even more relevant as the government begins to adopt solutions.

Education Technology Certified Trade Mission to Brazil – May 14-17, 2019


The U.S. Commercial Service and BETT Brazil have organized a Certified Trade Mission (CTM) to coincide with the BETT Educar 2019 Exhibition. The CTM will introduce U.S. education technology and supply firms to the rapidly expanding education sectors in the market and assist U.S. companies in pursuing opportunities in this sector.

U.S. companies will be privy to special programming and events as delegates with the mission:
