Design Resource Guide: A Reference for U.S. Exporters of Design Services

Welcome to the third edition of the Design Services Resources Guide: A Reference for U.S. Exporters. This guide is designed to help U.S. firms, specifically small and medium-sized enterprises, to identify markets where U.S. design service providers are likely to succeed.

The landscape for international opportunity is growing rapidly with the advancements of trade policy regarding services, intellectual property protection and financial mechanisms to protect international services fee payments. Multinational design services have seen strong increases for international billing over the last two decades and with current trends projecting increases in foreign billing, firms of all sizes are experiencing growth as services continue to boost the U.S. economy.

In response to industry trends for international activity, this reference guide will serve to assist U.S. firms with strategic planning to best position companies for success in new markets. It offers foreign market intelligence along seven key market indicators and compiles comparative information to assist U.S. design firms with market selection. This guide provides information for 11 countries: Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
