Advice for U.S. companies on Preparing for Brexit 
The U.S. Commercial Service (CS) London office has created a new section on the CS UK website with resources to help US businesses prepare for Brexit at https://2016.export.gov/unitedkingdom/brexit/index.asp or http://bit.ly/BrexitPrep4USbiz 

Applications for CRGC 2019 Export Grants Still Being Accepted 
The Chicago Regional Growth Corporation (CRGC) export grant program is intended for more experienced exporters who already have an export strategy. The grant funding is intended to help implement the strategy.  Exporters located in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties and the City of Chicago with less than 500 employees are encouraged to apply. The 2019 Grant Program will award up to $5,000 to small and medium-sized companies to implement an export plan. The grant will reimburse 50% of eligible expenses related to the plan.  Priority will be given to applicants that have not previously won a grant.  For more information, and to apply online, see https://wbc.formstack.com/forms/2019_crgc_gp_application 

Application Period for the President’s “E” Award for Exporting Opens November 1 
The President's “E” Award affords suitable recognition to persons, firms, or organizations which contribute significantly in the effort to increase U.S. exports. These awards are administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration.  There are two types of “E” Awards.  

The President's “E” Award for Exports is awarded to exporters of goods or services.  
The President's “E” Award for Export Service is awarded to organizations that help others to export. 

Conference calls to discuss the criteria for the Award along with the application process will be offered as per below.  Companies interested in applying are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the calls, which will cover: eligibility criteria, information required for submission, components of a successful application, and processes and timelines for application submission, review, and approval.

Tuesdays: November 26, December 10 
Mondays: December 23, January 6 

All calls for Exporters (goods or services) will be held at 1:00 p.m. Central time 
All calls for Export Service Providers will be held at 3:00 p.m. Central time  

(Export Service Providers are organizations that help others to export, like associations, logistics providers, finance companies, int’l education consortia,etc.)

ExporTech - Now Recruiting Companies for Winter 2019 Cohort – Chicago Heights 
Unlock your export potential with ExporTech!  Target companies for ExporTech are those that need to develop a more formal strategy for international and would benefit from individual market research. On average, participating companies generate $770k in new export sales. ExporTech saves participants countless hours with individual consulting and custom market research. It eliminates fear of the unknown about getting paid, protecting intellectual property, finding sales representatives, and more. This 3-day intensive cohort-based program is recruiting for winter 2019 and will take place in Chicago Heights. Invest your time in your business to develop a strategic plan for international sales, with grant funding available to implement. December 3, 2019:  Study Illinois Annual Meeting – Chicago 
The Study Illinois international education consortium, founded in 2003 with the help of the U.S. Commercial Service, is dedicated to promoting the state of Illinois as a premier study destination for international students and professionals. Its membership consists of Illinois educational institutions who welcome international students and are interested in further globalizing their campuses.  Current, past, and prospective members are encouraged to attend the annual meeting and find out how to get more involved. The event will include a speaker on creating a value-based communication plan to reach international enrollment goals, lunch, annual report & business meeting, and some great networking.  11:00am – 2:00pm at DePaul University Loop Campus, 1 E Jackson Blvd, Room 8010. $20 for Members / $30 for Non-Members.  For more info and to RSVP (by Nov 21), contact Kelsey Howard atkhowar25@depaul.edu For more info on Study Illinois itself, see www.studyillinois.us

February 9-17, 2020:  EnviroTech Executive Service: Water Trade Mission to India

The mission is open to U.S. companies from a cross section of industries with growing potential in the Caribbean region, but is focused on U.S. companies in best prospects sectors such as: Automotive Parts and Services; Construction Equipment/Road Building Machinery/Building Products/Infrastructure projects; Medical Equipment and Devices/Pharmaceuticals; ICT; Energy Equipment and Services; Safety and Security Equipment; Hotel and Restaurant Equipment; Franchise; Manufacturing Equipment; Yachting industry/Maritime services/Sailing Equipment.
