Event Summary:
The U.S. Commercial Service Brazil is organizing a Brazil Infrastructure Trade Mission to Brasília, São Paulo, and Santos from November 4-7, 2019 focused on ports and rail. Trade Mission participants will connect with industry peers, meet new business partners, get firsthand information on new infrastructure projects at national, state and municipal levels, and meet with concession operators. Additionally, participating U.S. companies will attend roundtables with Brazilian federal and state level infrastructure officials and concessionaires to learn more about various projects. Delegates will also have the opportunity to present their products and solutions to decision-making counterparts during one-on-one meetings.

The new Brazilian administration has an ambitious plan to accelerate investment and growth via partnerships or privatization. The recently-created Ministry of Infrastructure and the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) have 46 ongoing infrastructure concession/renewal projects open to participation from the private sector. The Government of Brazil (GoB) is especially interested in attracting U.S. firms for its ports and rail projects. Best prospects include:

• Ports, heavy materials handling equipment, security systems

• Rail, signals and communication systems, station and crossing safety

• Smart Technology for roads and urban transportation

• Architecture, design, construction, engineering

This Mission is part of the Deal Team initiative designed to increase U.S. private sector participation in major projects in Brazil and link U.S. companies with USG financing agencies which will also participate in the Mission.

This is an exciting time for U.S.-Brazil relations. The GoB recently rescinded the visa requirement for U.S. travelers to attract more visitors and business to the country. Contact CS Brazil staff to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
