Location/Date: Sao Paulo, Brazil 03/19/2019 - 03/19/2019
Event Summary:
Brazil is the largest market in Latin America and has a solid, growing, though sometimes challenging healthcare market. Brazil's economic recovery is underway. Overall GDP growth is projected at 2-3% and 7% in the healthcare sector in 2019. Brazil's new Administration (as of Jan 1, 2019) is discussing generally more open market policies.

Brazilian healthcare expenditures account for approximately 8.5% of the GDP. In a period of three years, the Government of Brazil will reportedly invest more than US$2 billion to digitalize all basic care units in the country. Both the public and private healthcare markets offer significant opportunities. Anvisa, the National Agency for Sanitary Surveillance (Brazil's FDA), has substantially reduced the timeframe to register new products and has made great strides in incorporating international best practices and standards into the regulatory system. U.S. companies that offer innovative, high quality, and/or competitively priced medical products and solutions will find significant opportunities across Brazil.
