Vital Signs Black Bar

Tom Cook is Managing Director of Blue Tiger USA and the National Institute for World Trade. He has been involved in domestic and global business for over 35 years in an array of diverse supply chain management and international business trades. He graduated from Maritime College at Fort Schuyler, NY, where he holds both a BS Degree in Transportation Science and a Graduate Degree in Transportation and Business Management.

His career began in the US Naval Reserve and the US and Dutch Merchant Marine, where he served as an officer in various commercial and military capacities on passenger, tug, oil, chemical, break bulk and container vessels, all over the globe. Tom has also been involved in the international insurance, manufacturing, exporting, importing, marketing, in the trade finance arenas and in senior management and ownership positions, with an emphasis on air and ocean freight, supply chain, distribution, logistics, compliance and security, along with domestic and global sales, purchasing/sourcing and business development concerns.

He has authored over 225 articles and published fifteen books on international trade, three of the latest: Post 911 “Compliance in Today’s Global Supply Chain”, and “Mastering Import and Export Management” and “Purchasing Management” and “Driving Risk and Spend out of the Supply Chain”and has lectured all over the world on varied subjects involved with global trade. He is considered by many leading professionals to be top in the field of global logistics and international operations.

Tom was awarded the prestigious International Partnership Award, sponsored by the United States Government, The State University of New York and the World Trade Council, delivered by former President Clinton. Tom currently serves as a senior consultant and Managing Director of Blue Tiger International.

Tom is a frequent participant course leader and lecturer with such organizations as the AMA, ISM, CCSMP, NAPM, APPA, NIWT and numerous others involved in supply chain management.
