Tom Clevinger brings over 35 years of progressive leadership experience in the medium and heavy truck and bus, parts distribution, component remanufacturing and aftersales support businesses. His experience spans national and international senior management assignments in general management, operations, product management, sales and marketing in multiple global countries. He is currently Senior Vice President / General Manager – Global, for Navistar Inc., with responsibility for the company’s truck and bus businesses outside of the U.S. and Canada. Navistar is a Fortune 500 company that manufactures commercial light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, military vehicles and diesel engines under the International, IC, Maxxforce and MWM nameplates.

Prior to joining Navistar, Tom was a member of the Board of Management of DAF Trucks N.V. in the Netherlands. During his tenure he served as Vice President / Managing Director for PACCAR Parts Europe, and Managing Director for DAF Trucks Hungary. Under Tom’s leadership, the European parts group achieved record sales growth for three consecutive years. Simultaneously, Tom’s team established PACCAR’s 5th European Parts Distribution Center, located in Budapest, Hungary. PACCAR Parts Europe distributes parts through a worldwide network of over 1,000 DAF dealers.

Prior to Tom’s assignment in Europe, he served as Assistant General Manager for PACCAR Parts for North America, located in Renton, Washington, supporting over 800 Peterbilt and Kenworth Dealer locations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Under Tom’s leadership PACCAR’s CONNECT program was launched to manage fleet and independent repair shop parts inventories growing to over 2,000 system connected locations world-wide. Additionally, under Tom’s leadership, PACCAR’s Customer Center was launched growing to over 50,000 connected vehicles.

PACCAR received several national awards for marketing excellence during Tom’s tenure, including two first-place Tempo awards from the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing and the internationally prestigious Golden Effie Award in Europe for implementation of an Integrated Direct Marketing Program for DAF Dealers in Europe, launched in 12 languages. DAF Trucks and PACCAR Parts are divisions of PACCAR Inc., a multinational company, which produces commercial vehicles sold around the world under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates.

Tom is frequently an invited speaker at national conferences on the topics of aftermarket product support and service parts logistics. He has been a contributor to business articles on vendor managed inventory and supply chain logistics in several national business publications and was a contributor to the best selling business book “Think Like a CEO”. Tom is also trained in both LEAN and Six Sigma principles.

Tom is an avid champion of education and the opportunity it affords to “change lives for good”. In this regard he serves on the Board of Governors for City University of Seattle receiving the title of “Chairman Emeritus”, and also the Board of Trustees for National University System located in San Diego. Tom is also an Executive Board Member for the International Service Logistics Association (ISLA e.V.) located in Munich, Germany. ISLA’s charter is to provide networking and training opportunities for executive and scientific personnel in the field of service parts logistics. Tom previously served on the Board of Directors of the Redwood Regional Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Tom and his wife Becky of 38 years currently live in the Chicago area. Tom received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and his Master of Arts Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development from City University of Seattle. Tom has also earned executive education certificates in General Management from Darden Business School in Virginia, and Supply Chain Management and Logistics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
