Dr. Juliana Cyril joined CDC as a Health Scientist in 2000. In 2012, she became the Director of the Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) in CDC’s Office of the Associate Director for Science where she is responsible for managing programs that foster innovative science and support the transition of results into practice by the most effective means. Specifically, she oversees CDC’s Technology Transfer Office which works to enable direct use of CDC’s scientific efforts through collaboration with partners in industry and elsewhere. Juliana also oversees OTI’s Innovation Lab which promotes the testing and implementation of innovative ideas across the agency through a variety of programs and initiatives. Juliana received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a Master’s of Public Health from the University of Washington and received a PhD in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University.
