Vital Signs Black Bar

Megan Clifford is the Deputy Director of Argonne National Laboratory’s Risk and Infrastructure Science Center. She also leads Argonne’s Resilient Infrastructure Initiative, bringing together a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists to advance the design of future infrastructure systems. Megan has over 18 years of experience in national security and resilience policy and analysis, strategic planning, program design, and stakeholder engagement serving a variety of sponsors, including the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of Energy, and Department of Defense.

As Deputy Director, Megan leads a team of experts delivering infrastructure modeling and analysis, decision science, data analytics, and risk assessments to strengthen national security and resilience. She serves on the Preparedness Leadership Council International and is the Chair of the Data, Metrics, and Tools Committee of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Community Resilience Panel for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems.

Prior to joining Argonne, Megan worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, most recently as Principal Director, leading a team of experts in providing support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). During her tenure at Booz Allen, she supported initiatives to draft the first-ever National Preparedness Goal; implement Presidential Policy Directives; develop and redesign Federal programs; and provide technical assistance to Federal, State, local, tribal, and territorial governments.

Megan received a BA in International Business from The George Washington University. She is currently an MBA candidate at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Megan holds Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) and Grants Management professional certifications.
