As the Energy Solutions Manager for the SynapSuite of technologies in Milbank Manufacturing’s PowerGen division, Kristen Thomas consults with commercial, light industrial, utility, and residential customers about existing and future energy needs. Milbank's nearly 90 years’ of expertise in energy management, meter sockets, enclosed controls and enclosures has helped the company become a leader in Grid Edge technologies. Milbank's patented SynapSuite Energy Management System will not only help change the way energy is distributed in the US, but also bring electrification through microgrid technology to developing countries around the world.

Prior to joining Milbank, Kristen was Director of Business Development for SunSource, one of the area’s leading renewable energy and LEED design/build providers.

Kristen is a frequent speaker on topics related to microgrids, system design, control and optimization of microgrid installations, and a variety of energy management topics. Recent engagements include:

  • KC Chamber, Energy & Environment Policy Forum Panelist, October 2015
  • Heartland Renewable Energy Society, “The Internet of Things, Microgrids, and our Energy Outlook Through 2030,” April 2016

Kristen serves as a Chamber Champion and is the Vice Chair of the Energy and Environment Committee for the KC Chamber. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Friends of the River KC, and volunteers for the American Cancer Society's yearly event The Midwestern.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2003.
