Vital Signs Black Bar

Mr. Josh Davis moved in 2010 to Houston from Taiwan where he earned an MBA with an emphasis in international business at National Sun Yat-sen University. Before joining the Greater Houston Partnership’s Economic Research and International Departments, he served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston.

Before living in Asia, Mr. Davis was an appointed staff member for the Mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma in Policy, Research, and Analysis where he managed Sister Cities International relationships, and other international delegations to and from the City – including business delegations to India and China. While working for the Mayor of Tulsa, Mr. Davis headed the first Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plan which culminated in a move to a new energy efficient building. After graduating with a BA from the University of Oklahoma with credit earned at Karl–Franzens University in Austria, he worked in the Oil & Gas industry on the upstream side.

Key initiatives at the Partnership being implemented by Mr. Davis include the Global Cities Initiative Metro Export Plan Working Group, which has a goal of increasing Houston companies that access Houston export services by 20 percent by 2020. Other initiatives include the International Trade Development Committee and the International Trade Council at the Greater Houston Partnership. Mr. Davis is a graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Civic/Business Leadership Forum.

Mr. Davis is married to his wife whom he met in Taiwan – she is originally from Poland, works for the World Affairs Council of Houston, and became a U.S. Citizen this year. They have a two-year-old daughter. In his free time he enjoys reading nonfiction, outdoor activities, and traveling.
