Panel: Moving Millions: How Brazil and Mexico Manage Hpyer-Urbanization

Marcelo Ignatios is architect and urbanist, specializing in Real Estate, currently the Superintendent of Structuring Projects at SP-Urbanismo, a company linked to Secretariat of Urban Development of Municipality of São Paulo, Brazil. There his team is responsible for supporting the economic studies in the framework of the new municipal strategic master plan and parameters of the new zoning code. Among the issues that have worked in it, are the actions and incentives for the promotion of reforms and new sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings. Prior to this, he served in the municipal public sector in the area of urban planning, and affordable housing in the advice on projects run by cooperatives.

In the private sector, he served for six years as country manager for horizontal Real Estate. His expertise covers urban development, municipal finance, and housing markets.
