Panel: Ubiquitous Commuting: The Software Revolution in the Global Auto Market

John Suh is an executive director and head of office of Hyundai Ventures, which focuses on making strategic investments and business partnerships in the United States for the Hyundai Motor Group. Hyundai Ventures looks at opportunities in 1) the intersection of mobile devices, the Internet, and the car; 2) cleantech and eco-friendly transportation; 3) intelligent systems and manufacturing systems; and 4) innovation in business models in personal mobility and transportation. Prior to joining Hyundai, he worked at General Motors, Xerox PARC (Palo Alto Research Center), and several Silicon Valley startups. John has a BS degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University and an MS and PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. John is also chair the Consumer Electronics Association standards subcommittee (R6.3) on wireless power. And he has five patents and patents pending in the fields of robotics, artificial nose technology, and location based services.
