Panel: Battening Down the Hatches: Strategies for Protecting Your Company’s Assets Around the World

Jack joined eBay in 2004 after serving for 8 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office in Boston, Massachusetts, where he worked on enforcement actions, consumer education efforts and policy initiatives involving online commerce and internet fraud. At eBay, Jack has played several roles in policy management, criminal investigations and law enforcement/regulatory relations. He currently manages a Global Asset Protection Team within eBay Inc. Government Relations that is comprised of teams of investigators and policy managers dedicated to protecting eBay’s and PayPal’s services and customers and making sure that the policies on eBay’s platforms are enforced effectively across the globe. This team also collaborates closely with law enforcement agencies globally to investigate and prosecute the criminal misuse of eBay’s services.  Jack started his legal career in 1992 with a 4-year stint as criminal prosecutor in the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, USA, just outside of Pittsburgh. He received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from Oberlin College in 1988 and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991.
