SelectUSA is a U.S. government program located in the International Trade Administration (ITA) at the U.S. Department of Commerce. The SelectUSA program functions as a trade facilitating engine between the United States and other countries. The central mission of SelectUSA is to encourage, attract, and retain investment in the United States, mainly through foreign direct investment (FDI) – a key driver of economic growth.

SelectUSA strives to coordinate the services and resources of the U.S. federal government with local and regional agencies to help companies of all sizes find the resources they need to make successful business decisions. The program works with state, regional, and local organizations to help investors have a single point of contact in the country.

SlectUSA services include:

Ø Provide an information platform to answer questions regarding the business environment in the U.S.

Ø Industry research that analyzes the competitive landscape

Ø Acts as a regulator for investors to help them avoid formalities, delays or obstacles that they might encounter in the federal regulatory process

Ø Provide assistance to post-investment ventures already existent in the United States.
