Event Summary:
U.S. Foreign & Commercial Service is Recruiting The 2020 Recruitment Cycle will open to accept applications for Commercial Officers to join the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) in the Spring of 2020. An informational session will be held via conference call on March 11, 2020 about the assessment process and a career in the USFCS. Session Content Participants will hear from Scott Pozil, an experienced Foreign Commercial Service Officer, about the hiring process and his experiences representing the United States Government as a Commercial Diplomat. Information about the US&FCS Assessment The U.S. Foreign & Commercial Service Assessment is a competitive, oral and written examination used to recruit and select new, tenure-track Foreign Service Officers. Candidates who pass an initial online application screening process receive an invitation for the one-day oral assessment. Top candidates who pass the oral assessment exam are placed on a list called the Rank Order Register, which is valid for two years. The agency uses this Register to extend conditional offers of employment to candidates, as vacancies become available, pending the Top Security Clearance. A detailed assessment information package will be available in the Spring of 2020, and the assessment is tentatively scheduled for August 2020. U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service Recruitment Info. He is currently the Career Development and Assignments Officer for US&FCS and is based in Washington, DC.
