The U.S. Commercial Service in Stockholm, Sweden, located at the U.S. Embassy, promotes export of U.S. goods and services into the Swedish market. Our Commercial Specialists assist U.S. companies with trade counseling, market intelligence, access to trade promotion opportunities, advocacy and facilitation of trade dispute resolution. We advance and protect U.S. commercial interest in Sweden, and provide guidance on inward investment into the United States for Swedish companies and investors through the White House’s investment initiative SelectUSA.

Sweden has a long-established tradition of expertise in engineering, shipbuilding, mining and life sciences, making it a highly receptive market to new and advanced technologies. The country is home to 9.8 million people, and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) totaled USD $571 billion in 2014, and GDP per capita exceeding USD $46,000. The United States and Sweden share strong ties in trade and investment. Annual U.S.-Swedish trade in goods and services is valued at an estimated $25 billion, and cumulative bilateral investment is valued at over $62 billion. Today more than 1,300 U.S. companies are present in Sweden.

Sweden is part of the Nordic region, consisting of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The homogenous Nordic region, with its 1.8 trillion dollar plus economy is considered one of the ten largest economies in the world, and the fifth largest market in Europe.
