Trade between the U.S. and Mexico is one of the great success stories of the world economy. More than $1.25 billion of goods and services cross the border each day.

Aside from manufacturing, the border region also offers opportunities in the mining sector. In the last five years, mining has been one of the five most promising sectors in Mexico’s economy. In fact, the mining sector contributes significantly to Mexico’s GDP and employ nearly 337,598 people. Mexico’s mining sector produces 23 different commodities, the major ones being gold, silver and copper. In fact, Mexico is the world’s largest silver producer.

Currently, the U.S. Commercial Service is providing the Gold Key contact facilitation service in the following Mexico-U.S. border States: Chihuahua, Sonora, Baja California, Coahuila as well as Nuevo Leon.
