Welcome to Our Coal Industry Page

Coal currently provides 40% of the world’s electricity needs. It is the second source of primary energy in the world after oil, and the first source of electricity generation. U.S. coal imports, which increased by more than 2 MMst in 2014 to 11 MMst, are expected to stay near that level in 2015 and 2016. The last decade’s growth in coal use has been driven by the economic growth of developing economies, mainly China.
