The Annual Meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) is the world's largest meeting devoted to clinical chemistry and clinical laboratory science in general. The AACC Clinical Lab Expo attracts more than 650 exhibiting companies and more than 19,000 participants.

Clinical laboratory science is the analysis of fluids and tissues for the diagnosis, management and treatment of illness and injury. Members of AACC work in laboratories affiliated with hospitals, research institutions, academia, reference laboratories, and the industry.

A unique feature of the AACC Expo is the OEM section which is, in effect, a trade show for companies which sell their products to IVD (in vitro Diagnostic) manufacturers. The OEM Section includes exhibitors who sell electrical, mechanical, and other components and biological products—such as antibodies and DNA research materials.

As new technologies are developed more of laboratory testing such as hematology, infectious disease, serology, and others is moving into clinical chemistry. The worldwide IVD market, which is currently 50% U.S. and 50% international, is dominated by the U.S.
