FCS Shanghai recruits a technical workshop “U.S. environmental technology for textile industry and soil remediation” in Shaoxing on Oct. 31, 2017

In partnership with the Shaoxing Bureau of Commerce, the US Commercial Service in Shanghai will host a technical workshop on the theme of “U.S. environmental technology for textile industry and soil remediation” in Shaoxing on Oct. 31, 2017. Newly appointed U.S. Consul General Sean Stein in Shanghai will lead the delegation to Shaoxing and deliver an opening remarks at the workshop.

Shaoxing is ranked 4th in Zhejiang Province in terms of GDP after Hangzhou, Ningbo and Wenzhou. Of those three cities, Shaoxing has the strongest manufacturing capacity and has boasted a majority market share of China's textile industry for over 30 years.  Now the city is facing an industry upgrade to meet new stringent waste water discharge standards. The Shaoxing government has requested that all local manufacturers initiative technological upgrades to their facilities to improve environmental impacts and have shown a strong commitment to working with the U.S. government and U.S. companies to improve its comprehensive environment situation.  Targeted audience will be: Government authorities   Industry end users  and environmental engineering companies

Which companies should participate:

  • Industrial waste water treatment technology, especially those applicable to the textile industry
  • Sludge treatment: dry, amount reduction and utilization
  •  Water reuse
  • Soil remediation
  • Air pollution control for manufacturers

One-day workshop format:

Morning session:   U.S. companies will make presentation, each 30 minutes long (including interpretation)

Afternoon session:  One on one matchmaking meetings and a group meeting with Shaoxing Environment Protection Bureau

Deadline for registration:  September 30, 2017  

Date of event:  Oct. 31, 2017 

 

Cost:  $1500/company  ( including meeting venue, tea break and buffet lunch for all guests)
