Testimonial from FireEye:
Learn how we helped this firm grow their presence in Europe!

FireEye was founded in 2004, by visionary and technologist, Ashar Aziz, who identified that the cyber security landscape was about to become the playing field for cyber criminals, cyber spies and hacktivists.  Over the next six years FireEye developed a suite of security appliances to protect governments and enterprises alike from sophisticated attacks via the web, via email and within files in transit.  By 2012, FireEye's range of malware protection systems, that provide dynamic threat intelligence that identifies and blocks cyber-attacks in real time, had gained significant market share in the US.  Needless to say, FireEye was a company with the right product at the right time and it began to grow in number of employees and sales but it was looking for a way to get its product in front of as many new buyers as possible while the market was ripe.  Recognizing the worldwide potential for sales, FireEye launched its own International sales team headed by Mr Paul Davis, VP, Europe.  Following an initial meeting with Andy Williams at the UK US Embassy, Paul engaged the Commercial Service team for help in growing the European sales footprint, and thus began FireEye’s great expansion.

Starting with a team of 45 employees (and just three in Europe only three years ago), FireEye grew to over 1,000 employees and in September 2013, executed one of the world’s most successful IPOs on the NASDAQ. Furthermore, on 30th December 2013, FireEye  completed a billion dollar acquisition of Mandiant, the privately held endpoint security products and response management provider, creating the industry’s first security company to detect, prevent, contain and resolve targeted attacks.

The engagement of FireEye with Commercial Service Europe has undoubtedly been a major factor in the massive growth in sales, and has helped FireEye escalate at pace.  FireEye has worked with the support of promotional programs across Europe, arranged by Commercial Service Europe Offices in the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki – every single one of these events has generated multiple opportunities in the millions of dollars.  This is a direct result of the support of Commercial Services, their keen understanding of what will work in-country and what won’t, and their ability to leverage their own strong relationships with local business leaders. FireEye has had direct contact with hundreds of potential buyers and clients in Europe (currently has over 1,100 customers globally across more than 40 countries, including over 100 of the Fortune 500).  Based on its tremendous success in Europe, FireEye has  adopted a global Single Company Promotion strategy to replicate the winning formula developed and implemented by the coordinated team approach executed by the CS Europe region.  We are pleased to hear that FireEye intends continuing with their Commercial Services engagements and already has plans to extend reach into new territories with us.
